Continuous River Monitoring

TMWRF currently maintains 9 continuous monitoring stations within the Truckee water system. These stations are located at: Mogul, Steamboat Creek, North Truckee Drain, Lockwood, Patrick, Waltham, Tracy, Painted Rock,  and Marble Bluff Dam. These instraments record hourly readings for Temperature, pH, Specific Conductance and Dissolved Oxygen.

TMWRF uses YSI 6000 series sondes to fill our monitoring requirements.   Our Monitoring period is typically year round, however, in times of extreme flows, the instrumentation is removed from the water until the flows return to a safe level.

Monthly River Sampling and Analysis

Monthly river samples are taken from Steamboat Creek, North Truckee Drain and the Truckee River.  These samples are analysed by our laboratory for a number of parameters.
